Paddle, bike or hike a fantastic park in your back yard.A steep-sided gorge called the “Dalles of the St. Croix” is the scenic focus of Wisconsin’s oldest state park. The park’s Ice Age Interpretive Center features a 20-minute film, photographs, murals and other information about the great glaciers. Three state natural areas are contained within the park’s 1,400 acres protecting unique glacial features and plant communities. Habitat types include upland and lowland forest, and bedrock glade. The park contains numerous wetland areas and encircles Lake O’ the DallesGo for a site in the North Campground with views overlooking the river.Reserve your own site starting August 9th at 9:00am. Founded in 1911, Devil’s Lake is the third oldest state park in Wisconsin, the largest and the most visited. Devil’s Lake offers magnificent views from 500-foot quartzite bluffs overlooking a 360-acre lake. Enjoy lakeshore picnic areas, sandy swimming beaches, 29 miles of hiking trails or ease into the backcountry solitude. Devil’s Lake is a beautiful year-round park with an intriguing natural history along the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Get a site in the Northern Lights Campground.Reserve your own site starting August 23rd at 9:00 AM. I’ll try for a site near 228 which is in a mix of electric and non-electric sites.Note: This park qualifies for the National Park Passes as it is included in the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Holders of National Parks passports receive a waiver of the vehicle admissions fees, but camping fees are not affected. Per the park website, call for specifics on multiple tents per campsite.

Established in 1891, Itasca is Minnesota’s oldest state park. Today, the park totals more than 32,000 acres and includes more than 100 lakes. Walk across the mighty Mississippi as it starts its winding journey 2,552 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Stand under towering pines at Preacher’s Grove. Visit the Itasca Indian Cemetery or Wegmann’s Cabin, landmarks of centuries gone by. Camp under the stars, or stay the night at the historic Douglas Lodge or cabins. Explore Wilderness Drive past the 2,000-acre Wilderness Sanctuary, one of Minnesota’s seven National Natural Landmarks. Elk Lake Group Camp – Hand pump for water, vault toilets, and a small, screened shelter building are available. Tents, trailers, campers, and RVs are permitted. Cost will be $25 per person.

Number of tents is at the parks discretion.Spectacular bluffs, 8 miles of shoreline, 1868 Lighthouse, Swimming beach, Hiking and Biking trails, Naturalist programs, short drive to Door County communities.Reserve your site at: sites: 770, 772, 773, 774, 775, 777 in the South Nicollet Bay Campground.

No electric, water or sewer hookups, 2 vehicles per site, 2 tents allowed.

Reservations can be made at on 2/28/2020 at 8:00am. Suggested sites are 2-10 at the East Campground. You will need a Michigan Passport for $33.00/yr or $9.00/day. Restored 1844 Military outpost and one of the first lighthouses on Lake Superior. Costumed interpreters. Hiking.

Towering old growth hardwood stands, Roaring waterfalls, Sweeping vistas, Nature programs, Hiking, “Lake of the Clouds”, Summit peak, Rrosque Isle River and a sandy beach.
